Mail-In Voting Ballots: To Stamp Or Not To Stamp?
The State made a very generous step by including postage prepaid envelopes in their 'kits'.

"We've gotten several questions about the mail-in ballots. The ballot says you can mail it in without a stamp. But the envelope clearly states that you must put a stamp on it.

Yes, it is indeed confusing, but we have an explanation.
We started sending out ballots last week, before we received the State's shipment of ballot kits. Our white mailer envelopes, which are the traditional type, require postage.

The State made a very generous step by including postage prepaid envelopes in their "kits". Had we waited, we would not have allowed voters as much time as possible to return their ballots.

If you do not wish to put postage on your envelope, please return it to our new Town Clerk's box. It is in the circle in front of Cary Memorial Building, right next to the Town Office Building. It is blue with yellow lettering (Lexington colors!) and has the Town seal on it.
COVID-19 has stressed us all, but we and the State are doing our absolute best to process voter applications and mail out ballots as soon as possible."
