Man Indicted For Rape At Lexington Residential Home

A former caregiver is accused of sexually assaulting a patient.

LEXINGTON, MA – One case with ties to Lexington is among the latest round of indictments in Middlesex County. District Attorney Marian Ryan on Monday announced indictments handed down between Jan. 18 and March 6.

Titus Shungwa, 40, of Lynn, was charged with rape (4 counts) and indecent assault and battery on a person with an intellectual disability (4 counts). The Assistant District Attorney is Heidi Gosule.

Shungwa, a former caregiver at a Lexington residential facility, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her room. Authorities said the woman identified Shungwa as her attacker, and his DNA was allegedly found on her.

The assault is alleged to have occurred on April 10, 2017 after the woman went to bed.
