Join Minuteman Community Education for Math Mania for students entering grades 1 & 2!
This course is designed for students entering grades 1 - 2, who consistently meet or exceed grade level standards in Mathematics. Get ready to investigate topics in algebra, geometry, money matters, consumerism, measurement, and probability. We will look at standardized test prep, mental math calculation, reasoning skills, problem-solving techniques, and curriculum extension, which are the basic skills children need to succeed not only at their current math level, but at every other level they approach. Children will have the opportunity to complete logic puzzles, explain their thinking, use technology, and use engaging hands-on activities to challenge themselves and their thinking. A variety of methods will be used, such as independent work, partner and group activities, and rote teacher instruction.
