Notice of Pending Destruction of Temporary Student Records

LEXINGTON – Minuteman High School is planning to destroy all temporary student records and is putting its former students on formal notice that it plans to do so.

Schools routinely destroy temporary student records after notifying students who have attended.

In accordance with Massachusetts state law, Minuteman is required to retain the transcripts of all former students for 60 years from the year they were scheduled to graduate from Minuteman. However, the school is not required to maintain other temporary student records such as test scores, attendance records, and medical reports.

Minuteman is advising former Minuteman students that it plans to begin destroying all of those temporary student records on August 26, 2016.

Any former student who would like his/her record or has any questions should contact Amy Perreault, Ed.D, MSW, Minuteman’s Director of Special Education, by August 25, 2016. Ms. Perreault may be contacted by e-mail at aperreault@minuteman.org or by phone at (781) 861-6500 x7259.
