Minuteman Student from Arlington Wins Futures Foundation Logo Contest
LEXINGTON – John “Jack” Ross, a Minuteman student from Arlington, is the winner of a logo design contest sponsored by the Minuteman Futures Foundation, Inc. The Minuteman Futures Foundation is a private, non-profit organization that raises funds to support students and programs at Minuteman High School.

“It was very difficult selecting a winner,” said Christopher Bateman, the Foundation’s President and the Managing Partner at Lexx Restaurant in Lexington. “The students at Minuteman contributed many very high-caliber entries.”

Mr. Ross, a 16-year-old junior majoring in Design & Visual Communications at Minuteman, will receive a $500 scholarship for his efforts. He was a graduate of the Ottoson Middle School in Arlington. His was one of more than 40 logo designs submitted to the Minuteman Futures Foundation.

The winning entry features a hand outlined in gold supporting the letters MFF, with the words Minuteman Futures Foundation underneath.

“This logo will be the face of our organization and our fundraising efforts for many years to come,” said Mr. Bateman.

The winner was announced in the Design & Visual Communications classroom at the start of school on September 6.

The Minuteman Futures Foundation was officially established last year as a private non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Tax-deductible donations may be sent to the Minuteman Futures Foundation, Inc., c/o Christopher Bateman, 9 Charnstaff Lane, Billerica, MA 01821.
