The Metropolitan Wind Symphony opens up its 43rd season of traditional outdoor band concerts with a show on Thursday, July 10, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Hastings Park.
MWS Music director Lewis J. Buckley conducts the varied music programs, which includes "Stars and Stripes Forever and King Cotton" by John Philip Sousa, "Dixieland Live!" by Lewis Buckley, "Light Cavalry Overture" and "Poet and Peasant Overture" by Franz von Suppe.
Bring a blanket or a a chair, and a picnic, and plop yourself on the grass. It's free.
