The need is very real, Vote YES for a new Fire HQ

Lexington Firefighters Local 1491 support a YES Vote on Dec 4th for a new Fire Department HQ. Debt exclusion vote.

Over the past few months, while speaking with many Lexington voters, there is a clear consensus that the Fire Headquarters (HQ) located on Bedford St is in desperate need of replacement. Your Lexington Firefighters, Local 1491, ask you to Vote YES for a new Fire HQ this Monday, December 4th.

The debt exclusion this Monday will ask Lexington voters if they are willing to pay a modest property tax increase to build a new Fire HQ. The question is as simple as that. Without a tax increase, there will not be a new Fire HQ. The vote will be a personal choice for each voter.

The 'No' campaign also agrees that Fire HQ is in desperate need of replacement, but is misleading voters by telling you if you Vote No for a firehouse that there is an alternative funding source for the project. The 'No' Campaign, is attempting to deceive voters with a plan that they invented to fund a new firehouse. One-third of the plan's funding comes from reducing public employees benefits to pay for town buildings. The mathematical model paired with wildly inaccurate predictions completely disregards any human factor. This proposal is not only unrealistic but is trying to mislead voters by using quotes such as, "Every Lexington employee will be better off." The 'No' campaign's plan has many fatal flaws in its calculations and predictions, but worst of all it is deceiving voters that it has the support of Lexington employees.
