O'LYN ROOFING AWARDS $5,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO NORWOOD HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR

O'LYN ROOFING AWARDS $5,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO NORWOOD HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR

O’LYN Roofing held its third annual golf tournament honoring Tom Olen, a longtime employee and brother of O’LYN Roofing’s owner, Michael Olen. Tom Olen battled cancer for nearly a decade before passing away in October of 2012. O’LYN Roofing created the Tom Olen Memorial Fund to honor Tom’s legacy. The fund is dedicated to cancer research, organ transplants, and supporting families who have fought and are fighting against it.

Every year the Tom Olen Memorial Fund gives a college scholarship to a local student whose family has been affected by cancer. This year the $5,000 scholarship was awarded to Kelsie Doherty, a senior at Norwood High School.

“This golf tournament is close to our hearts and something we are very passionate about”, said Linda Olen, co-owner of O’LYN Roofing, “we take pride in making an impact on the futures of our young community members.”
