Polar Vortex to Hit Lexington; Snow Likely
Snow is in the forecast Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

Thursday will be the unofficial start to winter in Lexington when a polar vortex barrels in.
The system has dropped more than a foot of snow on the upper Midwest as it rolls east.
New England will see a smaller amount of snow. On Thursday night, there will likely be some wet snow but no noticeable accumulation in Lexington. There could be a similar amount of drier snow Friday morning. Nighttime temperatures will be in the mid-20s at Friday and Saturday.

The best chance for snow accumulation is Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Exact snowfall totals were not pinned down as of Wednesday.
The frigid weather will continue next week, with daytime highs in the 30s and low 40s.
