Robbins Memorial Town Hall

The Quilters’ Connection (QC) quilt guild will be having its biannual show on April 25 and 26 in the Arlington Town Hall at 730 Massachusetts Avenue. QC held its first show almost fifty years ago and continues the tradition this year featuring almost 200 quilts on display from makers across New England including dozens of “comfort quilts” which will be donated to charities. The entry fee is $10 and the hours are: Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm and Sunday 10am – 3:30pm. Proceeds from the show support the work of the guild, including the comfort quilts. The attached photo is of the "It Takes A Village" raffle quilt created by QC members, and tickets for the raffle will be on sale at the show.

The long, cold winter is finally behind us! Come celebrate spring with an evening of fantastic music by Rock Voices, Newton’s only community rock choir! Our 100+ members and a professional live band will perform hits by your favorite artists: The Beatles, Jimmy Cliff, Grateful Dead, Three Dog Night, Suzanne Vega, the Doobie Brothers, Crosby Stills Nash &amp; Young, Billy Strings, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Weepies, and more! We guarantee you’ll be humming when you leave the concert!
In keeping with Rock Voices’ mission of “healing ourselves and others through song,” a gift basket raffle at the concert will benefit the West Newton Cinema Foundation, supporting efforts to restore the historic 1937 art deco-style movie theater and create a revitalized focal point for film and culture in the community.
