RESULTS: State Sen., 3rd Middlesex District
Democratic incumbent State Sen. Michael Barrett and Republican challenger Sandi Martinez were on the ballot.
Democratic incumbent State Sen. Michael Barrett defeated Republican challenger Sandi Martinez Tuesday to retain his 3rd Middlesex District seat.
According to unofficial results with 48 of 50 precincts reporting, Barrett received roughly 59 percent of the vote.
The 3rd Middlesex District covers portions or all of Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Sudbury, Waltham and Weston. Barrett lives in Lexington.
