Beginning on Tuesday night, September 9 and continuing nightly through Sunday morning, September 14, the breakdown lane and first travel lane on Route 2 westbound will be closed at 8:00 PM, and in addition the second travel lane will be closed between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM to allow work crews to repair bridge beams that were struck and damaged by an over height truck.
The on-ramp from Route 4/225 northbound to Route 2 westbound and the on-ramp from Wadsworth Road to Route 2 westbound will be closed during the lane closures.

Vehicular traffic will be detoured from Route 4/225 northbound to Route 2 eastbound to Exit 58 (Park Avenue) and back to Route 2 westbound. Vehicular traffic will be detoured from Wadsworth Road to Route 4/225 southbound to Route 2 eastbound to Exit 58 (Park Avenue) and back to Route 2 westbound.
The right shoulder on Route 4/225 northbound over the bridge will be closed continuously for the duration of the repairs.

MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect some delays and should reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
The work is being completed as part of MassDOT’s Accident Recovery Program.
