Sen. Donnelly Released from Mass. General Hospital

The Senator, who represents Lexington, underwent brain successful surgery on Tuesday.

BURLINGTON, MA — Senator Ken Donnelly (D-Arlington) was released from Massachusetts General Hospital after undergoing brain surgery, according to a post on the Senator's Facebook page.

According to a Facebook post, Donnelly was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital Sunday night for "difficulties," and doctors indicated surgery would be likely with 48 hours. It was announced Tuesday that Donnelly had underwent a successful brain surgery Tuesday night.

"Senator Donnelly has been released from Mass General Hospital after undergoing surgery on Tuesday," the post read."His medical team is extremely pleased with his progress and his family is thrilled to have him home."

Donnelly represents a district which encompasses Lexington.

According to multiple media reports, the successful surgery was done to remove a tumor from Donnelly's brain. The announcement also requested that well-wishers hold off from visiting the Senator at this time.

"We are requesting that well-wishers hold off visiting the senator until further notice," the announcement read."He will be spending time recovering and getting some much needed rest."
