Senate President Appoints Senator Donnelly to Assistant Majority Whip
State Senator Ken Donnelly was yesterday named Assistant Majority Whip under the new leadership team of Senate President Stanley Rosenberg
Senator Ken Donnelly (D-Arlington) was yesterday named Assistant Majority Whip under the Democratic leadership team of newly-elected Senate President Stanley Rosenberg (D-Amherst). The appointment of new committee chairs and membership followed the first formal session of the 189th General Court.
“It is an honor to be appointed by Senate President Rosenberg to serve as Assistant Majority Whip,” said Senator Donnelly. “I look forward to supporting the ambitious Senate agenda this session and working with my colleagues to bring about necessary reform that protects all of the interests of Massachusetts, from our thriving business to our most vulnerable citizens.”
Senator Donnelly was sworn in on January 7, 2015 to serve his fourth term as the Senator from the 4th Middlesex District, serving Arlington, Billerica, Burlington, Lexington and Woburn.

Senator Donnelly was also appointed as the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Election Laws. In addition, he was selected as a member of the Senate Ways and Means Committee, the Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse, the Senate Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets, and the Joint Committee on Public Service.
“I am excited to get back to work this session so that we can address the important issues that our constituents face every day,” added Donnelly. “Under the Senate’s new plan of shared leadership and increased engagement, I anticipate we will have a very productive two years.”
