Senators to Continue Commonwealth Conversations Tour

The Commonwealth Conversations Tour is a statewide tour of Senate districts led by the local senators to reach out to their constituents

Continuing the statewide tour of Senate districts, Senators Ken Donnelly, Jason Lewis, Tom McGee, Joan Lovely, Kathleen O’Connor Ives, Barbara L’Italien, and Minority Leader Bruce Tarr will be touring businesses and local municipalities to listen to the concerns of the people of the North Shore on Monday, February 23, 2015. The Senators will be joined by Senate President Stan Rosenberg and other senators from across the state.

The tour will begin with a stop in Burlington to discuss issues impacting businesses in the region, and continue on with stops throughout each Senator’s district. The day will end with a public forum at Salvatore’s in Lawrence (354 Merrimack St.) from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

“This statewide tour is a wonderful opportunity for the Senate to begin an open and honest conversation with our constituents about what they want to see accomplished this legislative session,” said Senator Ken Donnelly (D-Arlington). “I look forward to joining my colleagues to tour local businesses, meet with municipal leaders, and most importantly, to talk directly to residents about what is most important to them.”

“This is the third stop on our statewide Commonwealth Conversations Tour where we hope to hear directly from the people of the Commonwealth about how we can help improve their lives through our work in the Senate,” said President Stan Rosenberg. “We hope these conversations will help us craft our agenda and engage the public in the good work that we hope to accomplish this legislative session.”

The Commonwealth Conversations Tour is a statewide tour of Senate districts led by the local senators to reach out to local residents, businesses, and interests groups to listen directly to their needs and concerns with the hope that it will foster more civic engagement while helping each senator learn more about issues outside of their own districts.
