LEXINGTON, MA — Slow down, and quick! Lexington's statutory speed limit reduction from 30 miles per hour to 25 takes effect Sept. 1.
The default speed limit will now be 25 miles per hour on all town controlled roadways, within thickly settled or business districts, which currently have no posted speed limits. The Town said some examples include Follen Road, Peacock Farm Road, Hill Street, Meriam Street and Coolidge Avenue.
All streets in the Town with existing posted speed limits will remain the same.
