Souled Out Artists and Lexington Community Education Present: "Beloved Lunatic: A Tribute to Anthony Martignetti"

Souled Out Artists, a Lexington-based group of writers, musicians, & visual artists honors late founder Anthony Martignetti

A longtime Lexington resident, Martignetti, who passed away in June at the age of 67 after a four-year battle with T-cell PLL, a rare leukemia, grew up in Medford and Lexington and was a scion of the family’s liquor corporation. He was a familiar presence at the family’s flagship store in the North End, beginning in the late 50s. Martignetti was a close friend and early mentor of indie musician Amanda Palmer. Palmer and her husband, author Neil Gaiman, wrote introductions for Martignetti’s two short story collections (Lunatic Heroes and Beloved Demons, 3 Swallys Press) and participated in recent promotions of his work in Lexington and in Cambridge. Both Palmer and Gaiman spoke at Martignetti’s memorial service in June.
