Coaches, athletes and supports of athletic teams are getting ready for the upcoming season, and so are we here at Patch. This week Patch began to preview the Minuteman teams ahead of the fall season.
On Thursday, we checked in with the . The Minutemen will be trying to replace some key contributors on the volleyball court, while the LHS field hockey team will work to overcome the inconsistency that plagued it throughout the 2010 campaign.
On Friday it was time to take a closer look at the newest edition of the Lexington football team. This year’s crop of Minutemen are in decades, mostly due to the man leading them. George Peterson began his reign as head coach, taking over for the retired legend, Bill Tighe.

Also this week, news broke that former Lexington basketball standout Dane DiLiegro will be this winter. DiLiegro, a 2006 LHS graduate and former four-year starter at the University of New Hampshire, will play for Assi Basket Otsuni.
Last Saturday, stood at 2-1 in favor of the Lexington Blue Sox after the Andre Chiefs won on Friday night to extend the best-of-five series. Later in the week the Blue Sox wrapped up an unprecedented fifth straight league title.
