Sports Week in Review, Aug. 30 - Sept. 4
High school teams put finishing touches on preseason practices.
Can you feel it? The fall high school sports season is just around the corner. Most teams get the season started in earnest next week, but this week they put the finishing touches on preseason practices.
The Lexington High School girls' volleyball team had two scrimmages.
On Monday, the Minutemen hosted Lynnfield High School. It was the first chance coach Jane Bergin got to see her revamped roster go to work against an opposing team.

All but two of the Minutemen's starting spots will be filled by newcomers this season. That has Bergin unsure what to expect for a follow up to last year's 10-8 record to go with a berth in the Division 1 North sectional tournament.
Lexington also hosted Wilmington High School on Thursday and will travel to Andover's Play Date on Labor Day to wrap up the preseason. The Minutemen open the season next Wednesday at home against Bedford High School.
