STANLEY N. GRIFFITH OF LEXINGTON TO BE HONORED BY ROTARY CLUB OF BOSTON #7 FOR HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF GREATER BOSTON PFLAG

Rotary Club of Boston #7 recently announced that Lexington resident Stanley N. Griffith will be recognized for his extraordinary humanitarian efforts on behalf of Greater Boston PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer people) at a Gala Event on May 9th.
Greater Boston PFLAG is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering LGBTQ-inclusive families, schools and communities through support, education and advocacy. A retired corporate lawyer, and an active volunteer with the organization for over 10 years, Griffith has held numerous leadership positions and has been involved in program design, public policy advocacy, and fundraising. He currently serves as Chair Emeritus and is a member of the fundraising committee for Greater Boston PFLAG’s Pride & Passion Benefit and Auction to be held on May 11, 2015 at the Seaport World Trade Center.
Nominated for this prestigious recognition by Greater Boston PFLAG President Tom Bourdon, Griffith exemplifies the spirit of Rotary and “Service above Self” in his contributions to Greater Boston PFLAG. “Stan has made a tremendous impact on every aspect of Greater Boston PFLAG, from daily operations to strategic planning to government and community relations,” said Bourdon. “His expertise, passion and enthusiasm for the organization and for the work we do to help thousands of families are unparalleled.” In recognition of Griffith’s dedication and spirit of service, Rotary Club of Boston #7 will donate $1000 in Griffith’s name to Greater Boston PFLAG.

At the May 9th event, The Rotary Club will also recognize Jonathan D. Scott, President and CEO of Victory Programs and Robert A. Scannell, Jr., President and CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester. The Rotary Club Gala will be held at Alumni Hall at Fisher College from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
