MASSACHUSETTS BREAST CANCER COALITION’S STATEWIDE ANNUAL AGAINST THE TIDE EVENT ON CAPE COD

The Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) will be holding its annual statewide Against the Tide swim, kayak, walk, and/or run fundraising event again in Brewster, MA. This family-friendly event consists of several components: competitive and recreational 1-mile swims, recreational 2-mile kayak, recreational 3-mile walk, and recreational and competitive 5K and 10K runs. Participants of all ages and abilities can choose to participate in any of these components. The event also offers an Aquathon “Splash and Dash” component, where participants “splash” in the competitive swim and immediately “dash” in the competitive 5K or 10K run (chosen by the participant). Participants may register as an individual or as part of a team, and are encouraged to fundraise $175 ($100, if a team member). All proceeds support the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition.

The 16th annual Cape Cod Against the Tide will be held on Saturday, August 15th at DCR’s Nickerson State Park in Brewster, MA. Registration opens at 7:00am rain or shine. Activities are held throughout the morning and conclude with an award ceremony at 12:00pm. DIRECTIONS: DCR’s NICKERSON STATE PARK (3488 Main Street, Brewster 02631)

From Boston:

- Take Rte. 3 south to the Sagamore Bridge

- Take Rte. 6 to exit 12 in Orleans

- Turn left off the ramp onto Rte. 6A west towards Brewster.

- Continue for about 2 miles. Park entrance is on the left.
