LEXINGTON, MA—Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the originator of the World Wide Web, lives in Lexington!
Berners-Lee graduated from Queens College at Oxford University. He later went on to start the World Wide Web Consortium, which set standards for web use. Berners-Lee is one of the founding fathers of the internet as we know it today.
Berners-Lee was knighted by the Queen of England in 2004, and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering in 2013.
