Summer Workshops at Wright-Locke Farm (Winchester, MA)
Join the Farm this summer for classes on food preservation, herbalism, foraging, and more.
The summer season is the perfect time of year to learn how to safely and healthfully preserve fruits and vegetables at home, make homemade herbal products, and forage for wild edible and medicinal plants growing throughout the New England region. Wright-Locke Farm will host several adult education programs this July and August exploring these topics through hands-on workshops.
Next week on Wednesday, July 8 from 6-8pm the Farm will host an Introduction to Canning Pickles and Other High-Acid Preserves Workshop. Sign up today to learn about the basic science of canning and how to make delicious, shelf-stable high-acid preserves such as pickles, salsas, relishes, and sauces safely at home. Participants will make and can a pint jar of dill pickles featuring organic and locally-sourced ingredients to take home.
Workshop fee is $20 per person (ages 16+). Registration is required, but payment can be made the day of the workshop (exact cash or check only, please). Visit our website to sign up or to see our other adult education workshop offerings!
