The Acton Cooperative Theater (The A.C.T.) is pleased to present their production of Into the Woods Jr. on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th at the R.J. Grey Jr. High School Dragonfly Theater, located at 16 Charter Road in Acton. Show times are Friday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 1:00pm, 4:00pm, and 7:00pm. Join us on a magical adventure full of twists and turns as James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch— and bring them together for a timeless yet relevant piece and rare modern classic. The musical centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.
The A.C.T. is a unique, non-profit cooperative theater for children and teens. Their mission is to foster creativity and self-confidence in students grades K-12 as they improve and develop their skills in various areas of the performing arts. The A.C.T. welcomes students from Acton and surrounding communities who are interested in exploring the wonderful world of theater.

The A.C.T. also offers a theater enrichment program with organized outings to local shows presented by the Acton Boxborough Regional Schools and to family-friendly Broadway shows at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester, MA. In addition, through the theater enrichment program, friends of The A.C.T. have the ability to purchase discounted, premiere tickets to all shows and events in The Hanover Theatre’s current season.
