Brother and sister cats, Aby and April, need a home since their caretaker died in a house fire in Waltham. These approximately two-year-old feline siblings are seeking a foster home or shelter where they could be together. Not only did they lose the man who looked after them in his backyard, but April subsequently got trapped inside a new house being built nearby and was rescued one week later by the Animal Rescue League. She has had successful laser surgery on her eye, courtesy of The Cat Connection. April is stunning, with an orange chest and tabby stripes. She is spunky! Brother Aby is ‘an old soul,’ who looks at you with disarming honesty. While Aby has tested positive for FIV, he could likely live a full life with no symptoms. FIV is a cat-only autoimmune disorder and cannot be spread to humans or other non-felines. In addition, FIV is not easily passed between cats and cannot be spread casually in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing.
