Unconventional Investing with Minuteman Community Education
Register now for this great new class!

Unconventional Investing is Monday, October 27th from 6:30 - 9:00 pm at Minuteman High School.
The class is based on information provided in the book Unconventional Investing, which was written with the common investor in mind. Most of us are not taught finance or investment strategies in school or the workplace. Financial education is provided to those who proactively seek it. The goal of this class is to educate and stimulate thought and/or discussion. What you will find presented are investment ideas and strategies that are rarely discussed by the financial media or large financial firms.
Topics include, but not limited to:
Why the conventional wisdom of buying and holding a balanced portfolio is potentially dangerous.
How the typical 401k and 529 plan offers terrible investment choices.
Why Target-Date Retirement Funds and many mutual funds are flawed.
How Yale University invests and why you should too.
How it is possible to own tangible assets, like rental real estate, within your IRAs.
Why the classic balanced portfolio of two asset classes, stocks and bonds, is obsolete and y you need seven to twelve asset classes instead.
Six tactical funds that have outperformed the market with less risk.
Three mutual funds and three self- managed strategies that may help you avoid the next 2008-type bear market.
Effects of national debt, deficits, and quantitative easing that almost no one is talking about.
Why humans are inherently poor investors and why we need systems.
