Unique Prism Concert at Heritage Museum, Nov 1

Powers Music School will host the Dare to Be Musical Gala & Prism Concert on November 1 at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA.

Looking for something fun to do the day after Halloween?

The Dare To Be Musical Gala & Prism concert is something Powers Music School is excited to bring to life, as we have been planning for quite some time! Held at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington on November 1 at 6:00 pm (in the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library, Inc), the prism concert format will feature non-stop performances by student and faculty performers using all parts of the auditorium!

A little background information - Powers Music School is celebrating our 50th Anniversary during the 2014 calendar year, and launched the two-year 50th Legacy Campaign to raise funds for the changing needs of our students. The Legacy Campaign will run through the summer of 2015, and we are halfway to our goal already! But we still need help. That’s where our gala and prism concert kicks in.

The concert is a unique event with a format that we have found is an exciting challenge to pull off. Says our Director of Music Spencer Aston, “We will be using the entire space in the auditorium including the stage in front of the curtain, the stage behind the curtain, the aisles, and every nook and cranny you can think of within the auditorium. When one act finishes we will immediately move onto the next event and maximize the listening experience for the audience.” A number of our current and former students and faculty will represent the various programs Powers offers.

In addition to the prism concert, we will be premiering the 50th Anniversary Video with stories and reflections of what community music education means to our students, faculty, and area residents.
