Veterans Day 2016 in Lexington: Observances, Closures and More
Here's a breakdown of what's going on during Veterans Day in Lexington.

LEXINGTON, MA — Veterans Day is yet another time when Lexington residents come together to celebrate our area's rich tradition, and honor those who serve. The Town of Lexington has planned observances of the holiday, which provide a platform to celebrate the events.
Lexington will include special tributes to Vietnam veterans and Purple Heart Recipients as Lexington becomes a Purple Heart community. Here's a rundown of the events planned, according to the Town Website.
Veterans Breakfast
For Veterans and their guests on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Admission will be $5 at Keilty Hall at St. Brigid's Church. Tickets can be purchased at the Lexington Community Center and Michelson's Shoes.

Parade
The Veterans Day Parade is set for Friday, Nov. 11, and the parade will step off at 10 a.m. The parade will proceed west on Massachusetts Avenue to Lexington Center, then circle the Battle Green and return to Cary Hall. The following groups will be participating:
- Veterans
- Lexington Minutemen
- William Diamond Junior Fife and Drum Corps
- Lexington High School Band
- Boy Scouts
- Girl Scouts
- Board of Selectmen
- School Committee
- Town Officials
Ceremony at Cary Hall
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, and will consist of the 50th year commemoration of the Vietnam War, a Purple Heart Community Proclamation, a performance from the LHS Band and more.

Closures:
The following entities will close on Veterans Day:
- All Town Offices, including the Town Office Building and Public Services Building
- Community Center
- Cary Memorial Library
- Public Schools and School Administration
