Ray Ciccolo’s Village Automotive Group Recognized by the
Boston Business Journal as Top Charitable Contributor
Boston, Massachusetts, September 19, 2014— Ray Ciccolo’s Village Automotive Group was recently honored at the Boston Business Journal Corporate Citizenship Summit as one of Massachusetts’ Top Charitable Contributors of 2014. The list is published annually to recognize Greater Boston companies with the largest contributions to local non-profits; a minimum of $100,000 in donations to local nonprofits in the 2013 fiscal year was required for eligibility. Village Automotive Group exceeded that number, donating $375,000 to Massachusetts-based charitable organizations.
Village Automotive Group, a leading Massachusetts automobile dealer group owned by President and CEO Ray Ciccolo, is comprised of nine dealerships throughout metropolitan Boston. The flagship store, Boston Volvo Village, is one of the nation’s preeminent Volvo dealers, with the largest sales volume in New England, as well as the largest Volvo Service & Parts Departments in America. As remarkable as Ciccolo’ s business accomplishments have been over the past 50 years in the car business, his less recognized philanthropic endeavors have outshined them.
This year, in honor of Ray Ciccolo’s 50th anniversary in the car business, he chose to celebrate by generously donating $50,000 to several local charities.
Each of Ciccolo’s nine dealerships is a vibrant part of and a major contributor to the communities in which they serve, supporting local charities as well as global humanitarian efforts. Ciccolo sits on the board of the Global Smile Foundation, a Massachusetts non-profit organization that provides surgical procedures for patients born with facial congenital deformities in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent.
“I am privileged to have such wonderful employees who are dedicated to giving back and passionate about improving the quality of life of those in need,” said Ray Ciccolo, President of Village Automotive Group, “it is an honor to be recognized by the Boston Business Journal for our efforts .”
The Corporate Citizenship Summit convenes business leaders on the topics of corporate philanthropy and social responsibility, honoring the Top Charitable Contributors, Partners of the Year in areas of philanthropic leadership, and presenting the CEO Social Leadership award. The Top Charitable Contributors list showcased a total of 73 of the area’s top charitable businesses this year.
