Youthquake Theater Performs Shakespeare's "King Lear" for Munroe Saturday Nights

Shakespeare's "King Lear," presented by Munroe Saturday Nights. Saturday Night, October 25th, 7:30 PM at First Parish in Lexington, Free.

Youthquake Theater, the unique teen-directed and acted theater company based in Arlington, brings their production of Shakespeare’s “King Lear” to Lexington’s Munroe Saturday Nights series. The production will be presented at First Parish in Lexington, 7 Harrington Road, on October 25th at 7:30 PM.

Youthquake, founded in 2012, offers young people ranging in age from 11-17 the opportunity to stage theater productions focusing primarily on the works of William Shakespeare. The productions are organized, acted, and directed entirely by children and teens.

The company is the brainchild of Artistic Director Abigail Dickson. Dickson, who has performed as a child actor/singer in The Christmas Revels in Cambridge and with Revels Repertory Company, has also been seen as Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden, Little Red in Into the Woods, Juror #3 in Twelve Angry Women, and Ruby Gillis in Anne of Green Gables. She has staged and acted in productions of Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, and Much Ado About Nothing. She is currently working on a Shakespeare venture with the Actors Shakespeare Project of Boston.
