Lowell Together Endorses Wayne Jenness

LOWELL, Massachusetts, August 4, 2025 – Lowell Together, a new group in Lowell made up of community leaders from many local organizations, has announced their endorsement of Councilor Wayne Jenness, who is running for re-election to Lowell City Council District 4.

Lowell Together bases their endorsement on an extensive interview, conducted with each candidate with the potential for endorsement. Issues of importance include the unhoused population, affordable housing, immigrant rights, anti-racism, environmental justice, labor rights and unions, LGBTQIA+ rights, and disability rights.

Councilor Jenness was first elected to the Lowell City Council in 2021 and re-elected in 2023. During his first two terms, he has been a voice for moving Lowell forward. His voting record shows a prioritization of fighting for the people of the city. In November of last year, he stood as the lone vote against the Council’s draconian anti-camping ordinance designed to criminalize homelessness.

Councilor Jenness’ actions, as well as his Lowell Together interview, demonstrate his continued alignment with the values and priorities of Lowell Together. “I am flattered to be endorsed by Lowell Together. The group has many highly-respected community leaders and I look forward to working with them going forward,” said Jenness. Lowell Together is excited to support Councilor Jenness as he helps Lowell “continue to grow in smart and sustainable ways,” as he said in his interview.

In the coming weeks, Lowell Together plans to put together a canvassing and phonebanking team to support Jenness’ campaign, in addition to any other assistance that he requires.
