Alzheimer’s Association Welcomes Student Intern From Lynnfield
Stonehill's Emily Scollard's responsibilities include outreach to participants, research on new fundraising opportunities.

The Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter has enlisted Lynnfield native Emily Scollard as a Special Events Intern for the summer of 2017 semester. Scollard is a junior at Stonehill College majoring in Business Management.
“I've learned so much in the classroom and I wanted to apply it into the real world," said Scollard. " I looked for a hands on internship that would allow me to learn as much as possible and see how a business functions. The Alzheimer's Association is a strong, successfully run organization that fights for an amazing cause. It seemed like a great fit."
As a Special Events Intern for The Longest Day, Scollard’s responsibilities include outreach to participants, research on new fundraising opportunities and providing administrative support to event staff and participants across the Chapter.

The Longest Day is an Alzheimer’s Association fundraising event taking place in June around the summer solstice—The Longest Day of the year—it is a tribute to our caregiver heroes and those facing Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Businesses, towns, teams, and individuals all over MA and NH hold planned events and activities to raise awareness and funding for care and support programs while advancing research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s.
"Emily is a fantastic addition to our events team," said Charlene Bemis, Director of Special Events for the Alzheimer's Association. "June was a particularly busy time for us between it being Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness month and running The Longest Day and RIDE to End Alzheimer's fundraising events. Emily's contributions to these events has been invaluable. Her hard work undoubtedly played a role in the success of these events which have raised just under one million dollars so far. We are so happy to have Emily here with us this summer."
