Bruce G. Donovan of Wakefield, former Assistant Vice President and Manager of the Main Office of The Savings Bank, has been promoted to Vice President Branch Administration Officer at The Savings Bank. Bruce succeeds Vice President Bruce Chimo who retired after 35 years of service. As Vice President, Branch Administration Officer, Bruce Donovan serves as the Bank’s Security Officer with responsibility for branch safety and security, and oversees the staff and operations of the eight branch locations, including Customer Service. Bruce joined The Savings Bank as Manager of the Lakeside Office in October 2000. In 2006 he was made Manager of the Main Office. He was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2011. Prior to joining The Savings Bank, Bruce was associated with Brookline Savings Bank as a Branch Manager and Assistant Treasurer. He has also worked as a Branch Manager and Officer at Eastern Bank. He attended Northeastern University and both the New England School of Banking at Williams College and the American Institute of Banking. Bruce is active in the community, serving as the Treasurer of the Wakefield Rotary Club and as a member of the Finance Committee of St. Joseph’s Church. He is also a member of the Board of the Wakefield/Lynnfield Rail-to-Trail Committee and the Center for Performing Arts in Wakefield. Bruce and his wife, Catherine, are the parents of two daughters Kaitlin and Bridget. “I am pleased to announce Bruce Donovan’s promotion to Vice President, Branch Administration Officer,” Brian D. McCoubrey, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Savings Bank said. “Although the Bank is losing a valuable and well-respected officer and friend due to retirement, we are fortunate to have a well-qualified and deserving officer as his successor. We wish Bruce Donovan well in this new position.”
