Eataly Imports Soon To Add Restaurant

Eataly will serve Italian fare and offer entertainment at night.

The ever-changing Route 1 landscape will have a new restaurant soon after the Saugus Board of Selectmen granted Eataly Imports a license to change from a specialty food store to a full restaurant.

Sandwiched between the Fountain of Life Apostolic Church and the Vapor Zone on Route 1 North, Eataly Imports began selling Italian food and specialty products early last year. Owner Marco Orlandella said in a story first reported by Wicked Local that he intends to have sandwiches, pasta, and other Italian dishes. The hope is for the restaurant to open within the next month, he added.

In addition to food, Selectmen approved a license for karaoke and a singer with entertainment allowed until 10 p.m., seven days a week.
