Flash Flood Warning for Lynnfield

Many roads in the area are already closed because of flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Lynnfield until 10:15 a.m.

The National Weather Service asks that people avoid flooded roads and obey road closures. People near small streams should head ”for higher ground immediately.”

“Rapid and potentially life-threatening flooding of streets and underpasses is imminent. Do not drive through flooded roads and find alternate routes. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Turn around... don’t drown.”

After more than 12 hours of torrential rain, there are already many roads closed because of flooding. The morning commute is slow-going with Route 128 backed up for miles. Peabody closed schools today because of weather-related issues.
