Game Day Comes to Brudnick Center for Living Residents

LCC volunteers play board and card games with residents of the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody.

PEABODY - Volunteers from St. Maria Goretti and Our Lady of the Assumption parishes in Lynnfield spent a recent Saturday afternoon playing board and card games with residents of the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody. In the blink of an eye, strangers became friends, age differences melted away, and smiles filled the room. And we learned one important lesson ... you don't grow out of a love of cupcakes!

Kate McGrath, Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative's Pastoral Assistant, organized this outreach that brought young and young-at-heart together, and emphasized the principle of respecting life at all its stages. As Kate put it, "Holistic health is not just about caring for ourselves personally; it is also about caring for each other as a community - a body of people. And so this type of activity is an expression of our faith and commitment to caring for one another: body, mind, and spirit.”
