On October 21, 2026, A Healthy Lynnfield held its annual meeting at the Lynnfield Meeting House. It was an opportunity to come together to celebrate a year of meaningful accomplishments, recognize the incredible contributions of volunteers and community partners, and look ahead to the exciting work planned for the coming year.

Phil Crawford, Chair of A Healthy Lynnfield, presented Community Awards to recognize an individual and organization making a meaningful difference in the community through their leadership, advocacy, volunteerism, and commitment to the health and well-being of Lynnfield.

Michael DiCorato received the Community Volunteer Award which recognizes an individual whose leadership demonstrates exemplary hands-on support and volunteer effort in implementing a prevention program or strategy during the year. DiCorato was recognized for his dedication to the annual National Night Out event co-hosted by A Healthy Lynnfield and the Lynnfield Police Department.

Cervizzi’s Martial Arts received the Community Partner Award given to an organization or business that significantly contributes to A Healthy Lynnfield’s mission, helping make prevention programs and strategies possible in support of healthy youth and healthy families. Cervizzi’s Martial Arts has been a longstanding part of the Lynnfield community, serving generations of local youth. For the past five years, they have generously volunteered their time at the Healthy Living Expo and National Night Out. In Spring of 2025, they furthered their commitment by joining Lynnfield Middle School students during Wellness Week to teach the importance of being an upstander, along with basic self-defense skills.

Molly Geary received the Unsung Hero Award, recognizing a Youth Council leader who makes a difference behind the scenes through a positive attitude, a willingness to help wherever needed, and a commitment to excellence. The recipient demonstrates dedication, courage, perseverance, and a willingness to go above and beyond expectations. Geary has been a true leader as part of A Healthy Lynnfield, consistently going above and beyond to help bring the group’s ideas to life.

Mickey Sweeney received the Lynnfield High School Youth Council Award. Sweeney is a natural leader who is willing to stand up for what is right, even when it may not be easy. He takes initiative, is proactive in addressing challenges, and looks for ways to make a positive difference rather than waiting for someone else to step in. Sweeney is the Lynnfield Student Representative on the town's anti-hate task force and is one of A Healthy Lynnfield’s current co-presidents.

The Youth Advocate Award is presented to a Lynnfield Middle School and Lynnfield High School student in recognition of excellence in advocacy and the use of student voice to advance A Healthy Lynnfield’s mission and create positive change in our community. The recipients demonstrate leadership, use their voice as an agent of change, and make a significant contribution to the success of the Youth Council and A Healthy Lynnfield’s goals.

Emma Giardina received the Youth Advocate Award for her involvement in A Healthy Lynnfield and being a dedicated and enthusiastic leader who consistently shows up and steps up while at Lynnfield Middle School. Giardina was always willing to represent A Healthy Lynnfield, support initiatives, and get involved wherever she was needed. Her commitment, dependability, and enthusiasm make her a wonderful advocate for the group and our community.

Katie McGuinness, a senior at Lynnfield High School and co-president of the A Healthy Lynnfield Youth Council, received the Youth Advocate Award for Lynnfield High School students. She was recognized for demonstrating outstanding leadership and commitment to her community. Last February, she represented A Healthy Lynnfield at the CADCA National Leadership Forum in Washington DC as a student leader, not only expanding her knowledge of substance use prevention and youth advocacy but speaking directly with legislators and their staff and making connections with national prevention leaders. Her dedication and leadership exemplify the impact young people can have in building a healthier, stronger community.

Diana DeLeo, A Healthy Lynnfield Director, presented the Trusted Adult of the Year Award to Krista Normandin, Lynnfield High School Counselor and co-advisor for A Healthy Lynnfield High School Youth Council. The award recognizes a Lynnfield adult who goes above and beyond to make a positive difference in the lives of Lynnfield youth. This is a youth-driven award, with students nominating an adult who makes them feel supported, valued, and encouraged. When announcing the award winner, DeLeo read directly from student nominations. One student wrote, “Ms. Normandin is always welcoming. I can go talk to her if I am stressed or need anything, and she is always smiling and friendly to everyone.” Another student shared: “She’s everything I want to become and always has a contagious smile.”

The final award of the night was announced by Phil Crawford. The A Healthy Lynnfield Legacy of Service Award was presented to Representative Brad Jones in grateful recognition of his unwavering advocacy, partnership, and commitment to A Healthy Lynnfield and the health and well-being of our community. Jones was expected to attend the ceremony but was unable to due to commitments at the State House. Crawford and DeLeo presented Jones with the award at his office the next day.
