Join the Friends of the Lynnfield Library

May is Join the Friends of the Lynnfield Library Month

May is traditionally “Join the Friends” month during which the Friends of the Lynnfield Library ask for your support.  “By joining the Friends, members help our Library provide services and programs that enhance the quality of life in Lynnfield for residents of all ages and interests,“ said Priscilla March, President of the Friends’ group.  “Like in many towns, the Library budget cannot support a great deal of programming, but Friends groups like ours, do.”  A friends’ donation, for example, helps the library offer a variety of cultural, educational, and entertaining programs, including the very popular “Leonard Bernstein:  The Bad Boy of Broadway” series by Bill Sano for adults and the Summer Reading kickoff program “Sciencetellers” for kids.

A donation to the Friends also helps the Library buy museum passes that let Lynnfielders visit our world-class museums and other attractions at a fraction of the general admission cost.  Last year, Lynnfield residents reserved museum passes close to 1,000 times, and this year the Friends will purchase the very popular pass to the New England Aquarium.  Finally, is the Friends’ ongoing funding of DVDs, eBooks and audio books.  “Your donations go a long way in enhancing library services,” March said.

“To our current Friends, thank you, and please renew your support this year.  If you’ve not been a Friend, please consider it now.”  Town residents will receive the forms in the mail this month; however, keep in mind that donation/memberships can now be conveniently and easily completed via PayPal on the Friends web site (www.foll.org).  Your donation is tax-deductible
