Local Skaters Preparing for Big Show This Weekend
Several Lynnfield residents among those performing at Burbank Ice Arena April 1-3.

The North Shore Skating Club will be holding its annual Ice Spectacular Skating Show "Television Tunes" this weekend, April 1-3, 2011 at the Burbank Ice Arena in Reading.
Skaters of all ages, levels, and from various surrounding towns will be participating in the show along with a couple of invited guest skaters of note from around the country. Various skating numbers and performances will include music from popular and classic TV shows including "Charlie's Angels," "The Jetsons," "Glee," Hannah Montana," "American Bandstand" and more.
This year's show is being directed by Lynnfield resident Suzi Sweezey and Winthrop resident Amy Vecchio. Sweezey told Lynnfield Patch that there are a total of 152 skaters in the show, including a number of Lynnfield residents.

Some of the Lynnfield residents in this year's show include Alexa McCormick, Sophia Levantakis, and solo performances from Kennedy Dow and Senior Lauren Johnson. The families of all the skaters volunteer to help the show come together between props, scenery and costume.
"Amy and I have been working putting this show together since last summer, it's a long process but really pays off in the end" said Sweezey.

"All the skaters have been working on their individual routines since the end of February vacation," said Reading resident and club president Kelly Bukovich. "Skaters spend Sunday afternoons here at the rink working on various group and production numbers together".
One of the big highlights of the show is the father/daughter number, where the real support system of these skaters get a chance to shine! This year, you may just get a glimpse at the smooth moves of father Ed Peduto, rink manager and Wakefield resident - keep your eye out!

Tickets may be purchased at the door - $10 for adults, $8 for children (3-18) and seniors over 65.Show times are 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon matinee is at 2pm. This is a great show for all ages if you enjoy the sport of figure skating.
