Lost Dog Eludes Animal Control, Neighbors, Volunteers

Animal control officers from two communities and volunteers have been trying to catch a terrier dog over the past few days.

The dog, which appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier, was spotted on Beeman Street in West Peabody last Thursday. Animal control was unable to catch the dog.

It was later seen in Lynnfield and it again eluded animal control.

On Saturday, the dog was in the Huntington Wood townhouse complex off Lake Street and then went to the Grant Street area. Neighbors in both locations tried to catch the dog, but it got away.

The dog is not wearing a collar and appears terrified and frantic.

There have been no lost dog reports in the area matching the description so the dog may have been dumped.

She is creme-colored and tan and weights about 17 pounds.

Granite State Dog Recovery volunteers are involved. They set up a feed station and cameras to try to track the dog, but haven’t spotted her yet.
