Man Amputates Thumb on Knoll Road

Lynnfield Police responded to these and other calls for service from Monday, Sept. 16 to Thursday, Sept. 19.

Monday, Sept. 16
At 7:08 p.m. police issued a verbal warning for speeding to a Lynnfield man at 154 Essex St.

At 8:34 p.m. there was an accident with personal injury on Condon Circle.

Wednesday, Sept. 18
At 10:27 a.m. National Grid employees informed police they would like extra patrols on Hart Road across from #19. The fence had been vandalized several times by kids trying to get in with dirt bikes.

At 12:15 p.m. police helped a man at 2 Knoll Road who had amputated his thumb. The man was taken by ambulance to Mass. General Hospital.

At 10:35 p.m. a caller reported being the victim of a hit-and-run at the Boston Sports Club. The caller later realized that the rear quarter panel of the car curves in by design and that there was no hit-and-run.

Thursday, Sept. 19
At 6:09 p.m. police issued a citation to a Dracut man for operating a truck over 2 1/2 tons on a restricted way. The incident took place at 605 Walnut St.

At 7:23 p.m. a caller reported that a sign in a new crosswalk at 972 Main St. had been struck. The base was left in the roadway with a metal rod sticking out of it. Police notified the Department of Public Works.
