MarketStreet Cancels New Year's Eve Event

MarketStreet's plan to celebrate New Year's Eve with a Family Block Party came to a chilling end when it was announced Friday the event has been canceled because of the expected frigid temperatures.

"Due to the forecast of frigid temperatures, we have decided to cancel our NYE Family Block Party for this Sunday as the safety of our guests and our staff is of the utmost importance to us," MarketStreet announced on Facebook.

Lynnfield's expected high Sunday will be 12 degrees, with a low of 4-below zero. Most of the planned events were outside beginning at 5 p.m., including a Dance Party, Human Statues, Street Performers, Photo Booth, and a giant confetti burst.
