MassNFCA to hold northeast regional kickoff - Foster Care Alumni Cooking Social Saturday March 5th

The Mass Network of Foster Care Alumni (MassNFCA) will hold a Foster Care Alumni Cooking Social at the North Shore Business Center (Culinary Program) located at 30 Log Bridge Rd, Middleton, MA. MassNFCA is a nonprofit that creates community and opportunity for current and former foster youth through education, employment, service and leadership. You are a foster care alum if you have been in foster care, group care, kinship care, were adopted or guardianed after foster care, or are continuing in DCF care after age 18.

This is a free cooking class for foster care alumni, and we’ll provide the materials. Bring a favorite spice from your kitchen that you love to use! We will make several entrees that focus on breakfast and dinner, and participants will leave with a cookbook. Attendees will also learn about opportunities to get involved with future events through alumni organizing in the northeast region of the state. There will be a raffle with various prizes for foster care alumni.

“Chef Rodney Poles will teach foster care alumni quick and healthy recipes as well as food prep and storage techniques,” said Grace Hilliard-Koshinsky, MassNFCA’s Project Director. “Alumni of foster care are spouses, parents, veterans, mentors, and teenagers who are just striking out on their own. We are your neighbors, colleagues, and community leaders. Essentially, we are alumni from out of home placement looking to give back by creating an intergenerational mechanism of support for each and every one of us.”

Space is limited! Attendees must be registered by Feb 29th. Foster Care Alumni are able to bring their children.
