The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum Turns 25

The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum celebrated its 25th anniversary in grand fashion at The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, as 250 longstanding supporters and friends, including Lynnfield’s Tom and Jackie Adamczyk, came together for courage in support of the organization’s 25 years of serving the Boston Public Schools through it’s sixth grade language arts and character programs.

During the event, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and seated dinner with wines donated by M.S. Walker, while toasting to the organization’s continued growth on a local, national and international level. In addition to partnering with over 60 schools in Boston and surrounding communities, the organization works with schools in cities such as New Bedford, Birmingham, AL, Washington, D.C., Memphis, TN and Camden, N.J. “Max Courage” also has partnerships with educators in 12 countries abroad, including Cambodia, El Salvador, Lebanon, and Pakistan.
Program alumna and Boston Red Sox broadcaster Uri Berenguer shared powerful reflections on the impact the Courage Curriculum has had on his life while local award-winning author Barbara Shapiro spoke about the power of empathy and the power of the written word.

In attendance were organization founder and President Stephanie Warburg, former Secretary of Education Paul Reville, event co-chairs Nancy Adams, Carrie Minot Bell and Suzanne Bloomberg, Joan Bennett Kennedy, former news anchor Kasey Kaufman, Janet Wu, Vera Gibbons, Ann and Graham Gund, Kristina Lyons and New York fashion designer Ariana Rockefeller.
