PHOTO: Summer Of Fun Underway This Week

Lynnfield Community Schools' annual Summer of Fun program got underway this week. On Monday, Jack Mullarkey returned to teach the kids the sport of fencing.

Week one of the Lynnfield Community Schools' Summer of Fun Activities program is now underway - and it's not too late to get involved in a wide variety of activities as the program continues through the summer.

On Monday, Jack Mullarkey of the 3MB Fencing Club in Beverly was back in Lynnfield to introduce a new crop of kids to this ancient sport. .

In the exercise shown above, Mullarkey assigns each of his students a number and calls out two of them. From there, the kids try to be the first to snatch the flag from Mullarkey's hand, advancing using only fencing steps.
