Saints Parade at St. Maria Goretti Church

Halloween is actually All Hallow's Eve and it celebrates the vigil of the Catholic feast of All Saints Day.

A release from our friends at the Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative:

LYNNFIELD – At this time of year, children – and maybe more than a few adults – are focused on candy, costumes, and trick-or-treating. The Grade 4 Faith Formation students of Saint Maria Goretti Church, however, reminded their congregation that Halloween is actually All Hallow’s Eve and it celebrates the vigil of the Catholic feast of All Saints Day.

These students researched their favorite saints, made posters about them, participated in the entrance Procession at last Sunday’s 10 a.m. Mass, and told the congregation a little bit about these special people. They call it the “Saints Parade” and it is a beautiful reminder of the true meaning of the holiday.
