St. Maria Goretti Holds Confirmation Candidate and Sponsor Dinner

St. Maria Goretti Parish’s Confirmation candidates and their sponsors were able to spend some time socializing and faith-sharing at a special dinner held on Saturday, September 9, at SMG’s Parish Hall.

Confirmation is the last of the three initiation rites for Catholics, after Baptism and First Holy Communion. Through this sacrament, the faithful are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit and are strengthened in their Christian life. The candidates’ sponsors serve as their mentors, role models, and guides through this important rite, and continue to be their spiritual support throughout their lives.

St. Maria Goretti’s 65 candidates will be confirmed at a Mass celebrated by Bishop Mark O’Connell on September 24.
