Most residents in Lynnfield know Arthur Bourque, as Selectman. Others know him for his volunteer work for community events like “Reid’s Ride”. You may know that he is also a retired Massachusetts State trooper, and currently the President of a local surveillance company. Three LHS Varsity Soccer Captains know him as “Coach”.
Seniors Emily Stewart, Lauren McCarthy, and Nareh Sahakian (left to right in photo), all starters on this year’s state tournament bound team, have known Bourque since they were 12 years old playing in the Lynnfield Youth Soccer program, and also in the State District Select Soccer Summer program. These players are the last age group, or “batch”, that Bourque coached in town, so it is essentially, the end of a soccer era in Lynnfield.

Bourque began coaching youth soccer over 20 years ago, and players of successful Lynnfield high programs credit him for their success in high school and college level soccer. His coaching style has not gone unnoticed, as he was named Mass Youth Soccer’s Competitive Coach of the Year in 2008.
Bourque continues to commit his time and years of experience to youth soccer, coaching at the club level for the NE Aztec Soccer club.
