Veterans Day Ceremonies This Friday In Lynnfield

Officials will unveil commemorative gold star plaque mounted on Todd Lane street sign.

A release from the town of Lynnfield.

The Lynnfield Veterans Day Celebration will take place on Friday, Nov. 10. Veterans Day is a celebration of the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting us. It is incumbent upon us to spend some time showing our appreciation.

This year’s celebration will be special. It will begin with a brief ceremony and the unveiling of a commemorative gold star plaque mounted on our Todd Lane street sign to recognize two of Lynnfield’s distinguished veterans. Private David B. Todd & his bother, First Lieutenant Charles N. Todd were both killed in action during World War II. The unveiling will be held at 10 am at the corner of Todd Lane and Summer Street. We will then conduct our 30-minute ceremony on the town common, beginning at 11 am, followed by brunch in the meeting house. All Lynnfield veterans and residents are invited and encouraged to attend both ceremonies.

In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will occur at 11 am on the same date inside the Meeting House. Brunch will be served upon the conclusion of the ceremony.

If you are interested in making donations to local veterans, Lynnfield’s own American Legion Post 131 will be on site and donations may be made to them after the ceremony. Any questions, please call the Lynnfield Veteran Service Officer, Bruce Siegel at 781-334-9440.
