1,000+ Without Power In Malden

MALDEN, MA — More than 200,000 are without power following last night's storm, the MBTA is navigating fallen trees on the tracks and police are responding to several reports of intersections without working lights. Malden was one of the least affected areas with 1,374 customers reporting no power according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency as of 7:47 a.m.

Last night Eversource, the state's largest provider, said it was bracing for the storm, but has made no estimate on how long repairs might take this morning.

High winds in excess of 90 miles per hour last night along the coast, creating a "Bomb Cyclone" made things worse for folks on the Cape and the Islands, according to the National Weather Service.
